4th grade students continue to build upon basic technology skills. By now a majority of the students have a command of how to use common electronic devices so, we can delve deeper into the practical abilities of digital technology. Students continue to develop their keyboarding skills and refine desktop publishing skills. Fourth grade students are furthermore introduced to learning and practicing the use of social media in a responsible manner by creating a web 2.0 product. This product is generally a wiki or a glog.
The 4th graders are currently learning how to create, input data, and analyze spreadsheets. We are learning the parts of a spreadsheet and developing an understanding of why they should be used. Students will create a spreadsheet as a guided activity with the help of Mr. Evans on the class' favorite ice cream They will then create a spreadsheet on their own which will help them organize and analyze the amount of sugar in their favorite types of candy.
